Surah “Cattle, Livestock”

as rendered by Zulfiquar Ali Bhotto — 165 verses

6:1
[All] the praise be to Allah, who created the heavens and the earth and made the darknesses [dark matter, dark forces, dark life] and the light [visible matter, visible energy, visible life]. Then those who disbelieve equate [those dark and visible creations] with their Lord.
6:2
He is the one who created you all from a clay [primordial Eve], then decreed a term [female-male-female gender alternation, self breeding system] and a term [pair breeding system], stated by Him [in Qur'an 6:98]; then you are in doubt [of your evolution].
6:3
And He is Allah in the heavens and in the earth. He knows your secret and what you make public, and He knows what you deserve.
6:4
And there comes to them no sign from the signs of their Lord except they are turning away from it.
6:5
So certainly they belied about the truth when it came to them, So soon there shall come to them news of what they were ridiculing by.
6:6
Have they not considered how many of a generation We destroyed before them? We have established them in the earth what We have not established for you? And We sent rain from the sky upon them in abundance and We set up the rivers flowing underneath them. Then We destroyed them with their sins and brought forth after them other generations.
6:7
And if We sent down upon you, [O Muhammad], a Book in a page, so they could touch it with their hands, those who disbelieved would still have said, "Left this to be nothing except an obvious magic."
6:8
And they said, "If only that an angel was sent down upon him." But if We sent down an angel [in true form], the matter would have been decided [right then and there]; then they would not be granted any respite.
6:9
And if We made him an angel, We would have certainly made him [appear] as a man; and certainly We would have confused against them what they are confusing themselves [man vs angel vs prophet].
And already [with such] was mocked about, messengers before you. But whatever they were mocking therein coiled in those who mocked from them [e.g., she-camel of prophet Salih].
Say, "Travel through the land; then observe how was the end of the beliers."
Say, "To whom belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth?" Say, "To Allah." He has decreed upon Himself the mercy. He will surely gather you [O Mankind] together to the Day of Resurrection, concerning which there is no doubt. Those who lost their souls, then they are not believing.
And to Him belongs whatever dwells in the night and the day, and He is the Hearing, the Knowing.
Say, "Is it other than Allah I should take as a guardian, Originator of the heavens and the earth, while He feeds, And is not fed?" Say, "Indeed, I have been commanded to be the first who submits [to Allah]." And be not [O Muhammad] of the polytheists.
Say, "Indeed I fear, if I disobeyed my Lord, the punishment of a Great Day."
Whosoever is averted from it on that Day, then indeed He will have had mercy on him; that is the manifest triumph.
And if Allah touches you [O Muhammad] with affliction then none can remove it except Him. And if He touches you with excellence; for sure, He is over everything competent.
And He is the subjugator over His slaves. And He is the Wise, the All Aware.
Say [to people], "What thing is greatest in testimony?" Say, "Allah is a witness between you [your senses, Qur'an 2:1 and sensors Qur'an 24:24, Qur'an 36:65, Qur'an 41:20] and between me [my senses and sensors]. And this Qur'an was revealed to me that I may warn you thereby, and whomever it may reach. Do you testify that with Allah there are other Gods?" Say, "I will not testify." Say, "Indeed, He is Only one God, and indeed, I am innocent of what you associate [with Him]."
Those to whom We had given the Book recognize him [not it, Qur'an 6:21] as they recognize their sons. Those who lost themselves [in insincerity, supremacy], so they will not believe.
And who is more oppressor than one who invents lies against Allah, or belied within His verses? Indeed, the oppressors will not prosper.
And [O Muhammad] on a Day when We will gather them all together; then We say to those who associated partners, "Where are your partners those whom you were claiming?"
Then their test would no longer be there except that they said, "By Allah, our Lord, we were not polytheists."
Look, How they lied against themselves. And strayed from them, whatever they were inventing.
And among them are some who listen to you [O Muhammad], but We set up coverings upon their hearts [biases] to make them understand it, and [likewise] in their ears a weight. And if they see every sign, they will not be able to believe in it, until when they come to you, argue with you [to train those weights and biases]. Those who disbelieved say, "Left is nothing in this except legends of the former peoples."
And they bar [others] from it [this training] and keep away [themselves] from it [this training]. And left is none they can destroy except themselves, but they do not perceive.
If you [O Muhammad] see, when they are stalled against the Fire; and they said, "Oh, would that we were sent back and we would not belie about the verses of our Lord and would be of the believers."
No but is there! what they were hiding to themselves before, has become manifest now. But if they were sent back, they would return to what they were prohibited from. And indeed, they are liars.
And they said, "Left is nothing it [our life] to be except the life of this world, and we shall not be raised up [from grave]."
If you [O Muhammad] see when they are stalled against their Lord. He said, "Is this [your afterlife] not in the truth?" They said, "No but is there! By our Lord [it is]." He said, "So taste the punishment in what you were disbelieving."
Lost indeed are those who belied about the meeting with Allah, until when the Hour [of resurrection] came upon them suddenly, they said, "Ah! woe unto us, over what we have neglected concerning it." And they will bear their burdens on their backs, and verily evil is what they bear.
And what is the life of this world except a play and an amusement? But best is the home in the hereafter, for those who fear [Allah]. So will you [people] not be reasoning?
Indeed, We know what they say grieves you, [O Muhammad]. And indeed, they are not belying you, but the oppressors about the verses of Allah, they are denying.
And certainly messengers before you were belied, then they were patient upon what they were belied [liar, jinn possessed, magician etc], and they were annoyed until Our help came to them. And nothing can alter the terms of Allah [about guiding people]. And there has certainly come to you from the news of the messengers.
And if their evasion was difficult upon you [O Muhammad], then if you are able to seek a tunnel into the earth or a stairway into the sky so as to bring them with a sign, [then do so to guide them]. But if Allah had willed, He could have united them upon the guidance. So do not be of the ignorant ones.
Only those who listen will respond. And the dead, Allah will arise them; then to Him they will be returning.
And they said, "If only a sign was sent down upon him from his Lord." Say, "Indeed, Allah is Able on to send down a sign, but most of them do not know [signs of the `books' are all fake]."
And there is no moving creature on the earth nor a bird that flies with its two wings, except they are communities like you. We have neglected nothing in the Book. Then to their Lord they will be gathered.
And those who belied about Our verses are deaf and dumb, in the darknesses. Whomever Allah wills, He strays him; and whomever He wills - He sets him up on a straight path.
Say [to them], "Have you considered: if there came upon you the punishment of Allah or there came to you the Hour, is it other than Allah you would be calling, if you are truthful?
No but is there! to Him alone You call; so He removes what you call for Him, if He wills, and you forget whatever you have associated [with Him]."
And We certainly sent [some recompenses] to nations before you, [O Muhammad]; so We seized them with misery and distress that perhaps they might humble themselves.
So, if only when Our punishment came to them, they had humbled themselves! But their hearts became hardened, and Satan sugar-coated for them what they were working.
So when they forgot what they were reminded in, We opened upon them the gates of every things until, when they rejoiced by what they were given, We struck them suddenly. And then they were dumbfounded.
So, it was cut off, the last remnant of the people who oppressed. And praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds.
Say [to them], "Have you considered: if Allah took away your hearing and your sight and sealed against your hearts. Who is the god other than Allah to bring it to you?" Look how in various ways we explain the verses; then they are turning away.
Say [further], "Have you considered? If the punishment of Allah came to you suddenly or openly, will any be destroyed except the oppressing people?"
And We did not send the messengers except as bringers of good tidings and warners. So whoever believed and reformed then there will be no fear upon them, nor will they grieve.
But those who belied about Our verses, the punishment will touch them by what they were transgressing.
Say, [O Muhammad], "I do not say to you that with me are the treasures of Allah or that I know the unseen, nor do I say to you that I am an angel. I am left to follow nothing except what is revealed to me." Say, "Can the blind and the seer be equal? Then will you not be thinking?"
And warn by it [Qur'an] those who fear that they will be gathered to their Lord. They have not other than Him, any protector or any intercessor, perhaps they may fear [Allah].
And do not drive away those who call upon their Lord, in the morning and the afternoon, seeking His face. Not upon you [O Muhammad] is anything of their account and not upon them is anything of your account. So if you drive them away, you would [then] be of the oppressors.
And thus We tested some of them with some others, that they may say, "Are these whom Allah has favoured upon them from between us?" Is not Allah most knowing about the thankful ones?
And when those who believe in Our verses come to you [O Muhammad], then say, "Peace be upon you. Your Lord has written upon Himself mercy: indeed he whoever of you did evil in ignorance and then he repents after that and repairs, for indeed, He is Forgiver, Merciful."
And thus do We detail the verses and that the way of the criminals may become manifest.
Say, "Indeed, I am forbidden to worship those you invoke other than Allah." Say, "I will not follow your desires, I would then certainly have gone astray, and I would not be of the guided ones."
Say, "Indeed, I am upon a proof from my Lord, and you have belied about it. Not with me what you seek to hasten about it. Left would be none the decision [of hastening] to belong except to Allah. He relates the truth, and He is the best of deciders."
Say, "If that what you seek to hasten about it were with me, the matter would indeed be decided between me and between you. But Allah is most knowing about the oppressors."
And with Him are the keys of the unseen; none knows them except Him. And He knows whatever is in the land and the sea. Not of a leaf falls except that He knows it. And no grain is there within the darknesses of the earth and no moist or dry [thing] except it is [written] in an obvious Book.
And it is He who takes your souls in the night and knows what you have done in the day. Then He revives you therein that a stated term be fulfilled [Qur'an 17:12]. Then to Him will be your return; then He will inform you about what you were working on.
And He is the subjugator over His slaves, and He sends upon you recording-angels, until when death comes to one of you, Our messengers recall him [rewind his life long workings, Qur'an 6:60], and they do not fail [to rewind that during death].
Then [when rewinding is done] they are returned to Allah, their true Lord. Verily, the decision belongs to Him, and He is the swiftest of reckoners.
Say, "Who rescues you from the darknesses of the land and the sea? You call Him humbly and privately: `If He should save us from this, we will surely be of the thankful ones.'"
Say, "Allah saves you from it, and from every distress; then you associate partners [with Him]."
Say, "He is the All-Capable upon that He sends upon you an affliction from above you or from beneath your feet. Or He confounds you into sects and make some of you taste a fight of some other." See how and why We explain the verses in many ways; perhaps they may understand [without confusion].
But your people belied about it [Qur'an] while it is the truth. Say, "I am not over you a manager.
For every news [in the Qur'an] there is a fixed time; and soon you [people] will come to know."
And when you [O Muhammad] see those who engage in [offensive] talks concerning Our verses, then turn away from them, until they enter into another talk. And if Satan should cause you to forget, then do not sit after the reminder with the oppressing people.
And upon those who fear [Allah], of their account there is nothing except to remind [the oppressors, Qur'an 6:68]; perhaps they may fear [Allah].
And leave those who took their religion as a play and amusement and the worldly life has deluded them. But remind with it [Qur'an], lest a soul is given up in what it has earned; it will have other than Allah no protector and no intercessor. And if it should offer every compensation, it would not be taken from it. Those are the ones who have given up in what they earned. For them will be a drink of scalding water, and a painful punishment - about what they were disbelieving.
Say, "Shall we call other than Allah what neither benefits us nor harms us. And we turned back upon our heels after Allah has guided us? [We would then be] like the one whom the devils lured in the earth, being bewildered, [ignoring] for him, friends calling him to the guidance: `Come to us?'" Say, "Indeed, the guidance of Allah is the guidance; and we are commanded to submit to the Lord of the worlds,
And to establish the prayers and guard our consciousness of Him." And He is the one to whom you [people] will be gathered.
And He is the one who created the heavens and earth in the truth. And on a day He says, "Be," and it [the heavens and earth] is. His word is the truth. And His is the kingdom on a Day the Horn is blown [the heavens and earth end]. [He is] Knower of the unseen and the witnessed; and He is the Wise, the Aware.
And [remember, O Muhammad], when Abraham said to his father Azar, "Do you take idols as gods? Indeed, I see you and your people are in an obvious astray."
And thus did We show Abraham the kingdom of the heaven and the earth, and that he may be of those who are sure.
So when the night covered him, he saw a star. He said, "This is my lord." Then when it set, he said, "I like not the ones [star, sun, moon etc] that set."
So when he saw the moon rising, he said, "This is my lord." Then when it set, he said, "Unless my Lord guides me, I will be of the people who gone astray."
And when he saw the sun rising, he said, "This is my lord; this is greater." Then when it set, he said, "O my people, indeed I am innocent from whatever you associate [with Allah].
Indeed, I have faced my face, towards the one who created the heavens and the earth, being monotheist, and I am not from the polytheists."
And his people wrangled with him. He said, "Do you wrangle with me concerning Allah while certainly He has guided me? And I do not fear what you are associating with Him, except that my Lord wills a thing. My Lord encompasses everything in knowledge; then will you not remember?
And how could I fear what you [people] associate, and you do not fear that you have associated with Allah, what He has not sent down about that upon you any authority? So which of the two parties has more right about the security, if you should know?
Those who believe and do not mix their belief with wrong, those, from them is the security, and they are [rightly] guided.
And that was Our argument which We gave Abraham [to use] against his people. We elevate whom We will, in degrees. Indeed, your Lord is Wise, Knowing.
And We gave to him [Abraham], Isaac and Jacob, We guided them all. And We guided Noah before [Abraham] and from Abraham's descendants, David, and Solomon, and Job, and Joseph, and Moses, and Aaron. And thus do We recompensed the good-doers.
And [likewise we guided] Zechariah, and John, and Jesus, and Elias, all were of the righteous.
And [further we guided] Ishmael, and Elisha, and Jonah, and Lot; and all We preferred over the worlds.
And [some] from their forefathers and their offspring and their brothers, and We elected them and We guided them to a straight path.
That is the guidance of Allah by which He guides whomever He wills of His slaves. But if they had associated others with Allah, then whatever they were working would be voided on them.
Those [Qur'an 6:82, Qur'an 6:88, Qur'an 7:33] are the terms We gave them the Book and the authority and the prophethood [one after another] so long that [a nation] keeps disbelieving in these terms [e.g., Qur'an 3:79, Qur'an 6:91]. Then We have finally entrusted it to a people [Muslims] who would not be in those terms disbelieving.
Those are the ones whom Allah has guided, so with their guidance [Qur'an], follow [O reader of the worlds]. Say [O Muhammad], "I do not ask you on it any payment. It is left to be nothing except a reminder for the worlds."
And they [Jews] did not show Allah His due respect when they said [in defense of Torah corruption that], "Allah did not send down on humankind anything of [light and guidance to be preserved]." Say, "Who sent down the Book that Moses brought with it as light and guidance for the people? You [Jews] make it into pages, disclosing somewhat and suppressing much [Qur'an 5:13]. And you have been taught [through this Qur'an] what you did not know, neither you nor your forefathers." Say [O Muhammad], "Allah [reveals with full of things: light and guidance]." Then leave them in their discourse, playing.
And this is a Book which We have sent down, consecrating and confirming itself everything out here in between its two hands [as blessed and true, respectively] so that you [O Muhammad] may warn the Mother of towns [Mecca, the Mother of all civilizations] and those [other civilizations] around it. Those who believe in the Hereafter believe in it [Mecca to be the center of Pangaea], and they are keeping their prayers [spiritual connections with its first inhabitants: Eve and Adam].
And who is more oppressor than he who invents a lie against Allah, or said, "It was revealed to me," while not was revealed to him a single thing, and who said, "I also will send forth [to the fools] the like of what Allah sent down." And if you [O Muhammad] see when the oppressors are in the flood of agonies at the death, while the angels stretch forth their hands, [saying], "Exit out your souls! Today you will be awarded the punishment of humiliation, in what you were saying against Allah other than the truth while you were on His verses scorning."
And [further will be said], "Certainly you have come to Us individually as We created you the first time, and you have left behind your back whatever We bestowed on you. And We do not see with you your `intercessors' which you claimed that they were partners [with Allah] in your [fabricated books]. Indeed the collaboration between you [about fabricating books project] was broken now, and strayed from you [the book] what you were claiming [as being sent down from Allah]."
Indeed, Allah is cleaver of the grain and the date seeds. He exits out the living from the dead and He is the bringer forth the dead from the living. That is Allah; so how can you be fooled?
[He is] the cleaver of the morning and has made the night for rest, and the sun and the moon for calculation. That is the calculation of the Mighty, the Knowing.
And He is the one who made for you the stars that you may guide yourselves with them in the darknesses of the land and sea. Certainly We have detailed the signs for a people who know.
And He is the one who produced you from a single [female] soul, so [from] a settlement phase [self procreation, female-male-female gender swing] and depository phase [pair procreation, male and female]. Certainly We have detailed the verses for a people who understand.
And He is the one who sends down water from the sky, then by it We brought forth vegetation of every kinds, and We brought forth from it greenery, We brought forth from it clustered grains. And from the palm trees - from its sheath - heavy date clusters hanging low, and gardens of grapevines, and the olives and the pomegranates, similar yet so different. Look at [each of] its fruit when it bear fruit and rippen. Indeed in that are signs for a people who believe.
But they set up for Allah the partners - the Jinn, while He has created them. And they attribute to Him, sons and daughters, without knowledge. Glory be to Him and Exalted is He, high above what they describe.
[He is] Originator of the heavens and the earth. How could He have a son when there is no she companion to Him. And He created everything? And He is about everything [physical, nonphysical, metaphysical] ever Knowing.
That is Allah, your Lord; there is no god except Him, the Creator of everything; so worship Him. And He is over everything a Guardian.
The visions cannot comprehend Him, but His comprehends the visions; and He is the Subtle, the Aware.
[Say to them], "There has certainly come to you insights from your Lord. So whoever sees, then it is for his soul, and whoever is blind then it is against his soul. And I am not a keeper over you."
And thus [to instill the insights] We explain the verses in many ways and that they may say, "You have studied," and that We may demonstrate it to a people who know.
Follow [O Muhammad], what has been revealed to you from your Lord. There is no god except Him. And turn away from the polytheists.
And if Allah willed, they would not have been polytheists. And We did not set up you over them as a keeper, and you are not over them an advocate.
And [O believers], do not revile those, they call other than Allah, lest they revile Allah in enmity without knowledge. Thus We have made appealing to every community their works. Then to their Lord is their return, so He will inform them all about what they were working.
And they swore their strongest oaths by Allah, that if a sign came to them, they would surely believe in it. Say, "The signs are only with Allah." And what will make you [believers] perceive that when it came, they would not believe.
And We will turn their hearts and their eyes [from its intuition and insights], as they did not believe in it first time. And We will leave them in their own taghut, wandering blindly.
And if We sent down the angels to them, and the dead spoke to them and We gathered everything upon them, face to face, they were not to believe, except that Allah wills. But most of them are ignorant [about meaning of signs is nothing but a wastage of time, energy].
And thus We made for every prophet an enemy, devils from mankind and the jinn, some of them inspiring to some other decorative speech, in delusion [the bad word, Bible]. But if your Lord had willed, they would not had done it. So leave them [O Muhammad] and that which they have been inventing.
And [it is] so the hearts of those who do not believe in the Hereafter will incline toward it [their inventions] and that they will be satisfied therein and that they will commit that which they have been committing [keep adding more lies, decorative speeches to cover up their forefather's inventions in Bible].
[Say], "Then is it other than Allah I should seek as an exposer [of all your inventions, Qur'an 6:112-113] while He is the one who has sent down for you [O Inventors] the Book [Qur'an], explaining in detail [all your inventions]". And [O Muhammad] those [inventors] whom We brought them forth the Book [Qur'an], they know that it [Qur'an] would be sent down from your Lord in the truth [Qur'an 26:192- Qur'an 26:196]. So do not be of the doubters.
And the word [promise] of your Lord [O Muhammad] has been fulfilled in truth and in justice [Qur'an 17:108]. None can alter His words, and He is the Hearer, the Knowing.
And if you [O Muhammad] obey most of those in the earth, they would astray you from the way of Allah. Left is nothing they may follow except the assumptions, and left is nothing they are except are on lying.
Indeed, your Lord, He knows best who strays from His way, and He knows best about the guided ones.
So eat of that [meat] upon which the name of Allah has been mentioned, if you are believers in His verses.
And what belongs to you [O believers] that you will not eat of that upon which the name of Allah has been mentioned? And verily, He has explained in detail to you what He has prohibited upon you, excepting whatever you are compelled towards. And indeed many would astray through their desires without knowledge. Indeed, your Lord, He is most knowing about the transgressors.
And leave the outside of the sin [action] and its inside [motivation]. Indeed, those who earn the sins will be recompensed about what they were committing.
And do not eat of that [meat] over which the name of Allah has not been mentioned, and indeed, it is a transgression. And indeed the devils do inspire their allies to argue with you. And if you obey them, indeed, you would surely be polytheists.
And is he who was dead and We revived him and set up for him a light whereby he walks in the people like he who is in darkness, from which he would not exit out? Thus was beautified for the infidels whatever they were working.
And thus We set up in every town, its wicked men, to conspire therein. And they are not conspiring except at their own souls, and they are not perceiving.
And if a sign came to them, they said, "We will not believe until we are given like that which was given to the messengers of Allah." Allah is most knowing of where He set up His message. It will inflict those who criminalized a small with Allah, and a severe punishment, about what they were plotting on [in effect- Qur'an 6:123].
So whoever Allah wants to guide him, He expands his breast to Islam; and whoever He wants to misguide him, He makes his breast tight, constricted, as though he were ascending in the sky. Thus Allah makes defilement upon those who do not believe. [see, Qur'an 9:115]
And this is the pathway of your Lord, straight. Certainly, We have detailed the verses for people who remember.
For them will be the home of peace with their Lord, and He will be their Guardian, about what [the remembrance] they were working [in effect - Qur'an 6:126].
And [mention, O Muhammad] a Day when He will gather them together [and say], "O assembly of jinn, you already took away many of mankind." And their allies from the humans said, "Our Lord, some of us profited by some others, and we have reached our term, which you delayed for us." He said, "The Fire is your abode, to abide in it forever, except what Allah has willed. Indeed, your Lord is Wise, Knowing."
And thus do We make some of the oppressors allies to some others, about what [the profit] they were earning [in effect- Qur'an 6:128].
"O assembly of the jinn and mankind, did there not come to you messengers from you, relating upon you My verses and warning you of the meeting of this Day of yours?" They said, "We bear witness against ourselves." And the worldly life deluded them, and they will bear witness against themselves that they were infidels.
That is that your Lord [O Muhammad] is not one who destroys the towns oppressively while their residents are unaware.
And for everyone there will be degrees for what they did. And your Lord is not unaware of what they are working.
And your Lord [O Muhammad] is the Rich, the possessor of mercy. If He wills, He can remove you [mankind] and set successors after you, whatever He wills, just as He produced you from the descendants of another people.
Indeed, what you [people] are promised is coming, and you cannot defeat [it].
Say, "O my people, work upon your degrees [position]; indeed, I am working. So soon you will know who will have, belong to him, the end of the home. Indeed, the oppressors will not succeed.
And [the polytheists] set up for Allah from that which He produced of crops and livestock, a share. And they said, "This is for Allah", by their claim, "and this is for our associates [other gods]." But what is for their associates does not reach to Allah, while what is for Allah - this reaches to their associates. Evil was whatever they are establishing.
And likewise their associates [taghuts, false gods] sugar-coated to many of the polytheists, the killing of their children in order to ruin them and to confuse them on their religion. And if Allah had willed, they would not have done it. So leave them and what they are inventing.
And they said, "These are livestock and crops, forbidden; no one may eat from them except whom we will," by their claim. And [for] some livestock forbidden are their backs [to carry load] and [also for] some livestock upon which they do not mention the name of Allah, as an invention against Him. He will recompense them by what they were inventing.
And they said, "What is in the wombs of these livestock is exclusively for our men and forbidden upon our wives. But if it is [born] dead, then they all will have share therein." He will recompense them for their description. Indeed, He is Wise, Knowing.
Certainly lost are those who killed their children foolishly, without knowledge, and prohibited what Allah had provided for them, inventing against Allah. Certainly they have strayed and they were not guided.
And He is the one who causes gardens to grow - trellised and untrellised, and the palm trees and crops of different [kinds of] food and olives and pomegranates, similar yet so different. Eat of its fruits when it fructifies and give the dues [zakah] on the day of harvesting. And do not waste. Indeed, He does not like the persons who are wasteful.
And of the livestock are load carriers and those too small. Eat of whatever Allah has provided for you and do not follow the footsteps of Satan. Indeed, he is to you an obvious enemy.
Eight pairs: two of the sheep and two of the goats. Say [to them], "Is it the two males He has forbidden or the two females or what the wombs of the two females contain thereon? Inform me with knowledge, if you are truthful."
And two of the camels, and two of the cows. Say [to them], "Is it the two males He has forbidden or the two females or what the wombs of the two females contain thereon? Or were you witnesses when Allah instructed you with this? Then who is more oppressor than one who invents a lie against Allah, to astray the people without knowledge? Indeed, Allah does not guide the oppressing people."
Say, "I do not find in what has been revealed to me is forbidden upon an eater who eats it, except if it is a dead, or blood spilled out, or the flesh of swine, for indeed, it is impure - or that which is [slaughtered in] disobedience, dedicated to other than Allah in that [slaughter]. But whoever is forced [by necessity], neither desiring [it] nor transgressing [its limit], for sure, your Lord is Forgiver, Merciful."
And upon those who are Jews We prohibited every animal with claws; and of the cattle and the sheep We prohibited upon them their fat, except what their backs carried or the entrails or what is joined with bone. [By] that We punished them concerning their rebellion. And indeed, We are truthful.
So if they belied you [O Muhammad], say, "Your Lord is the possessor of extensive mercy; but His punishment cannot be repelled from the people by their criminals."
Those who are polytheists will say, "If Allah had willed, we would not have associated [anything] and not our forefathers, and we would have prohibited nothing." In such way, those before them belied, until they tasted Our punishment. Say, "Do you have of that any knowledge so you can exit it out for us? Left is nothing you may follow except the assumptions, and left is nothing you are except are on lying"
Say, "To Allah is the far reaching argument. So if He had willed, He would have guided you all."
Say, "Collect forward your witnesses, those who are witnessing that Allah has prohibited this." But if they testify then do not testify with them. And do not follow the desires of those who belied about Our verses and those who do not believe in the Hereafter, while they are equating [others] with their Lord.
Say, "Come, I will recite what your Lord has forbidden upon you: That do not associate with Him anything, and with the parents, goodness, and do not kill your children out of poverty; We will provide for you and them, and do not approach immoralities - what is apparent of them and what is concealed, and do not kill the soul which Allah has forbidden - except by the [legal] right. That He has instructed with it you perhaps you may use reason."
And do not approach the orphan's property except with that which is best, until he reaches his maturity. And give full measure and weight with the justice [when approaching and returning his property]. We do not charge a soul except its capacity. And when you speak then be just, even if it be [against] a relative. And fulfill the covenant of Allah. That He has instructed you perhaps you may remember.
And this is My way, straight, so follow it; and do not follow [other] ways, then they will separate with you from His way. This He instructed you with it perhaps you may fear [Allah].
Then We gave Moses the Book, giving wholeness onto the one who did good [without believing in the meeting with their Lord, hereafter] with an explanation to every thing, with a guidance, with a mercy; perhaps in the meeting with their Lord they shall believe.
And this [Qur'an] is a Book We sent it down as blessed, so follow it and fear [Allah]; perhaps you may receive mercy.
[We revealed it] lest you say, "The Book was only sent down upon two groups [Qur'an 1:7] before us, but we were of their study certainly unaware,"
Or you [the two groups, Qur'an 1:7] say, "If only the Book [Qur'an] was sent down upon us, we would have been surely better guided than them [these muslims]." So certainly there has come to you [three groups, Qur'an 1:7] a proof from your Lord and a guidance and a mercy. So who is more oppressor than one who belied about the verses of Allah and turns away from them? We will recompense those who turn away from Our verses with an evil punishment; with what they were turning away.
Are they waiting except that the angels should come to them or your Lord should come or that there come some of the signs of your Lord? A Day when some of the signs of your Lord will come, it will not benefit a soul in her conviction that had not believed before or had earned through her faith a goodness. Say, "Wait. Indeed, we are waiting."
Indeed, those who have divided their religion and become sects, you [O Muhammad] are not from them in anything. Their affair is only [left] to Allah; then He will inform them all about what they were doing.
Whoever came with the good deed [on the Day of Judgment] then for him is ten times its alike; and whoever came with the evil deed will not be recompensed except an alike of it; and they will not be oppressed.
Say [O Muhammad], "Indeed, my Lord has guided me to a straight path, a right religion, the religion of Abraham, a Monotheist. And he was not of the polytheists."
Say, "Indeed, my prayer and my sacrifice, and my living and my death, are for Allah, Lord of the worlds.
No partner for Him. And with that I was commanded, and I am the first of the Muslims."
Say, "Is it other than Allah I shall seek as Lord? While He is the Lord of every thing?" And every soul does not earn [blame] except against itself, and no bearer of burdens will bear a burden of another. Then to your Lord is your [all sought lords'] return, so He will inform all of you this [Allah is the only Lord, every soul only earns its own blame] wherein you all were differing [in a day, Qur'an 41:53]."
And He is the one who set you up as successors on the earth, and raised some of you in degrees over some others that He may test you through what He has given to you. Indeed, your Lord is swift in the penalty; and indeed, He is Forgiver, Merciful.
