Surah “The Beneficent, The Mercy Giving, The Merciful”

as rendered by Talal Itani & AI (2025) — 78 verses

The Most Merciful.
He taught the Quran.
He created the human being.
He taught him clear speech.
The sun and the moon move by precise calculation.
The stars and the trees bow down in worship.
He raised the sky and established the balance.
So do not transgress in the balance.
Weigh with justice and do not shortchange the balance.
He laid out the earth for all living creatures.
In it are fruits and palm trees with sheathed clusters.
Grain with husks and fragrant plants.
So which of your Lord's blessings will you both deny?
He created the human being from dried clay like pottery.
He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire.
So which of your Lord's blessings will you both deny?
Lord of the two easts and Lord of the two wests.
So which of your Lord's blessings will you both deny?
He released the two seas, meeting together.
Between them is a barrier they do not cross.
So which of your Lord's blessings will you both deny?
From them emerge pearls and coral.
So which of your Lord's blessings will you both deny?
His are the ships raised high in the sea like mountains.
So which of your Lord's blessings will you both deny?
Everyone upon it will perish.
But the Face of your Lord will remain, full of majesty and honor.
So which of your Lord's blessings will you both deny?
Everyone in the heavens and the earth asks of Him. Every day He is bringing about a matter.
So which of your Lord's blessings will you both deny?
We will attend to you, O two dependent beings.
So which of your Lord's blessings will you both deny?
O assembly of jinn and humans, if you can pass beyond the regions of the heavens and the earth, then pass. You cannot pass except with authority.
So which of your Lord's blessings will you both deny?
There will be sent upon you both flames of fire and smoke, and you will not be able to defend yourselves.
So which of your Lord's blessings will you both deny?
When the sky splits apart and becomes rose-colored like oil.
So which of your Lord's blessings will you both deny?
On that Day, no human or jinn will be asked about their sin.
So which of your Lord's blessings will you both deny?
The criminals will be recognized by their marks, and they will be seized by their forelocks and feet.
So which of your Lord's blessings will you both deny?
This is Hell, which the criminals denied.
They will circle between it and scalding water.
So which of your Lord's blessings will you both deny?
But for whoever feared standing before their Lord, there are two gardens.
So which of your Lord's blessings will you both deny?
With spreading branches.
So which of your Lord's blessings will you both deny?
In them are two flowing springs.
So which of your Lord's blessings will you both deny?
In them are two kinds of every fruit.
So which of your Lord's blessings will you both deny?
Reclining on beds lined with thick brocade, and the fruit of both gardens hanging near.
So which of your Lord's blessings will you both deny?
In them are companions with modest gazes, untouched before them by any human or jinn.
So which of your Lord's blessings will you both deny?
As if they were rubies and coral.
So which of your Lord's blessings will you both deny?
Is the reward for excellence anything but excellence?
So which of your Lord's blessings will you both deny?
Below these two are two other gardens.
So which of your Lord's blessings will you both deny?
Deep green.
So which of your Lord's blessings will you both deny?
In them are two gushing springs.
So which of your Lord's blessings will you both deny?
In them are fruits, palm trees, and pomegranates.
So which of your Lord's blessings will you both deny?
In them are good and beautiful companions.
So which of your Lord's blessings will you both deny?
Fair ones, sheltered in pavilions.
So which of your Lord's blessings will you both deny?
Untouched before them by any human or jinn.
So which of your Lord's blessings will you both deny?
Reclining on green cushions and fine carpets.
So which of your Lord's blessings will you both deny?
Blessed is the name of your Lord, full of majesty and honor.
