The believers have truly succeeded.
Those who are humble in their prayer.
Those who turn away from idle talk.
Those who give their charity.
Those who guard their chastity.
Except with their spouses or those their right hands possess, for then they are free of blame.
But whoever seeks beyond that, those are the transgressors.
Those who honor their trusts and their pledges.
Those who are constant in their prayers.
These are the inheritors.
They will inherit Paradise, dwelling there forever.
We created the human being from an extract of clay.
Then We placed him as a drop in a secure resting place.
Then We created the drop into a clinging clot, then We created the clot into a lump of flesh, then We created the lump into bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, then We brought him forth as another creation. So blessed is God, the best of creators.
Then after that, you will surely die.
Then on the Day of Resurrection, you will be raised.
We created seven pathways above you, and We are never unmindful of creation.
We sent down water from the sky in measured amounts and lodged it in the earth, and We are fully able to take it away.
With it We produced for you gardens of date palms and grapevines, in which you have abundant fruits, and from which you eat.
And a tree that grows from Mount Sinai, producing oil and a condiment for those who eat.
In livestock there is a lesson for you: We give you drink from what is in their bellies, and you have many other benefits from them, and from them you eat.
On them and on ships you are carried.
We sent Noah to his people, and he said, "My people, worship God. You have no god other than Him. Will you not be mindful of Him?"
The leaders among his people who disbelieved said, "This is just a man like you who wants to make himself superior to you. If God had willed, He would have sent down angels. We never heard of this from our forefathers."
He is just a man possessed by madness, so wait and watch him for a while.
He said, "My Lord, help me, for they have denied me."
So We revealed to him: Build the ark under Our watchful eyes and Our revelation. When Our command comes and the oven bursts with water, load onto it a pair of every species, and your family, except those among them against whom the word has already been passed. Do not plead with Me for those who have done wrong. They will be drowned.
When you and those with you have settled on the ark, say, "Praise be to God who saved us from the wrongdoing people."
Say, "My Lord, let me land in a blessed place, for You are the best of those who bring to land."
In that are signs, and We were surely testing them.
Then We raised after them another generation.
We sent among them a messenger from themselves: "Worship God. You have no god other than Him. Will you not be mindful of Him?"
The leaders among his people who disbelieved, denied the meeting of the Hereafter, and whom We had given luxury in this worldly life, said, "This is just a man like you. He eats what you eat and drinks what you drink."
If you obey a man like yourselves, you will surely be losers.
Does he promise you that when you die and become dust and bones, you will be brought out again?
Far-fetched, far-fetched is what you are promised!
There is nothing but our worldly life. We die and we live, and we will never be resurrected.
He is just a man who has invented a lie against God, and we will never believe him.
He said, "My Lord, help me, for they have denied me."
He said, "In a little while, they will surely be filled with regret."
The blast seized them in justice, and We turned them into debris. Away with the wrongdoing people!
Then We raised after them other generations.
No nation can advance its appointed time, nor can they delay it.
Then We sent Our messengers in succession. Every time a messenger came to a nation, they denied him. So We made them follow one another to destruction and turned them into cautionary tales. Away with a people who do not believe!
Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our signs and clear authority.
To Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they acted arrogantly, for they were a haughty people.
They said, "Should we believe two men like ourselves while their people are our slaves?"
So they denied them both and were among those destroyed.
We gave Moses the Scripture so that they might be guided.
We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign, and We sheltered them on high ground with security and flowing springs.
O messengers, eat from the good things and act righteously. I am fully aware of what you do.
This community of yours is one single community, and I am your Lord, so be mindful of Me.
But they tore their affair apart into factions, each party rejoicing in what they have.
So leave them in their flood of confusion for a while.
Do they think that the wealth and children We provide them with.
We are rushing good things to them? No, they do not perceive.
Those who tremble in awe of their Lord,
And those who believe in the signs of their Lord,
And those who do not associate partners with their Lord,
And those who give what they give while their hearts tremble, knowing they will return to their Lord,
These are the ones who race toward good deeds, and they are foremost in them.
We do not burden any soul beyond its capacity. With Us is a record that speaks the truth, and they will not be wronged.
But their hearts are submerged regarding this, and they have other deeds besides that which they continue to do.
Until, when We seize their affluent ones with punishment, they will cry out in anguish.
Do not cry out today. You will receive no help from Us.
My verses were recited to you, but you turned back on your heels,
Arrogant toward it, babbling through the night, speaking nonsense.
Have they not reflected on the message? Or has something come to them that never came to their forefathers?
Or do they not recognize their messenger, so they reject him?
Or do they say he is possessed? No, he has brought them the truth, but most of them despise the truth.
If the truth had followed their desires, the heavens and the earth and everyone in them would have been ruined. No, We have brought them their reminder, but they turn away from their reminder.
Or are you asking them for payment? The reward from your Lord is better, and He is the best of providers.
You are calling them to a straight path.
But those who do not believe in the Hereafter are deviating from that path.
Even if We showed them mercy and removed the hardship afflicting them, they would persist in their transgression, wandering blindly.
We seized them with punishment, yet they did not humble themselves before their Lord, nor did they plead.
Until, when We open upon them a gate of severe punishment, they will be in despair.
He is the One who gave you hearing, sight, and hearts. How little you give thanks.
He is the One who spread you across the earth, and to Him you will be gathered.
He is the One who gives life and causes death, and to Him belongs the alternation of night and day. Will you not reason?
But they say the same things the ancients said.
They say, "When we die and become dust and bones, will we really be resurrected?"
"We and our fathers were promised this before. These are nothing but legends of the ancients."
Say, "To whom belongs the earth and everyone in it, if you know?"
They will say, "To God." Say, "Will you not then remember?"
Say, "Who is the Lord of the seven heavens and the Lord of the Mighty Throne?"
They will say, "God." Say, "Will you not then be mindful?"
Say, "In whose Hand is the dominion of all things, and He protects while none can be protected against Him, if you know?"
They will say, "God." Say, "Then how are you so deluded?"
We have brought them the truth, but they are liars.
God has never taken a son, nor has there ever been any god alongside Him. Otherwise, each god would have taken away what he created, and some would have overpowered others. Glory be to God, far above what they describe.
Knower of the unseen and the seen, exalted is He above what they associate with Him.
Say, "My Lord, if You show me what they are promised,"
"My Lord, then do not place me among the wrongdoing people."
We are fully capable of showing you what We promise them.
Repel evil with what is better. We know best what they describe.
Say, "My Lord, I seek refuge in You from the whispers of the devils."
"I seek refuge in You, my Lord, from their presence."
When death comes to one of them, he says, "My Lord, send me back!"
"So I may do good in what I left behind." No! It is just a word he utters. Behind them is a barrier until the Day they are resurrected.
When the Horn is blown, there will be no ties of kinship between them that Day, nor will they ask about one another.
Those whose scales are heavy, they are the successful.
Those whose scales are light, they are the ones who have lost their souls, dwelling in Hell forever.
The Fire will scorch their faces, and they will grimace in it with their lips displaced.
Were My verses not recited to you, and you kept denying them?
They will say, "Our Lord, our wretchedness overcame us, and we were a people astray."
"Our Lord, bring us out of this. If we return, then we are truly wrongdoers."
He will say, "Be despised in it and do not speak to Me."
There was a group among My servants who used to say, "Our Lord, we have believed, so forgive us and have mercy on us, for You are the best of those who show mercy."
But you took them as a mockery until they made you forget My remembrance, and you used to laugh at them.
Today I have rewarded them for their patience. They are the triumphant.
He will say, "How many years did you remain on earth?"
They will say, "We remained a day or part of a day, so ask those who keep count."
He will say, "You remained only a little, if only you had known."
Did you think that We created you in vain and that you would not be returned to Us?
Exalted is God, the True King. There is no god but Him, Lord of the Noble Throne.
Whoever calls upon another god alongside God, having no proof of it, his reckoning is with his Lord. The disbelievers will not succeed.
Say, "My Lord, forgive and have mercy, for You are the best of those who show mercy."
