God has heard the words of the woman who pleads with you concerning her husband and complains to God. God hears your exchange. God is All-Hearing, All-Seeing.
Those among you who declare their wives to be like their mothers' backs: they are not their mothers. Their mothers are only those who gave birth to them. They speak an abhorrent word and a lie. Yet God is Pardoning, Forgiving.
Those who declare their wives to be like their mothers' backs and then retract what they said must free a slave before they touch one another. This is what you are exhorted with. God is fully aware of what you do.
Whoever cannot find the means must fast two consecutive months before they touch one another. Whoever is unable must feed sixty poor people. This is so you may believe in God and His Messenger. These are the limits set by God. For the disbelievers there is a painful punishment.
Those who oppose God and His Messenger will be humiliated just as those before them were humiliated. We have sent down clear verses. For the disbelievers there is a humiliating punishment.
On the Day God resurrects them all and informs them of what they did. God has recorded it while they forgot it. God is Witness over all things.
Do you not see that God knows what is in the heavens and what is on the earth? There is no private conversation among three except He is their fourth, nor among five except He is their sixth, nor fewer than that nor more except He is with them wherever they are. Then on the Day of Resurrection He will inform them of what they did. God knows all things.
Have you not seen those who were forbidden from secret conversations, yet they return to what they were forbidden and conspire in sin, aggression, and disobedience to the Messenger? When they come to you, they greet you with words God never greeted you with, and say to themselves, "Why does God not punish us for what we say?" Hell is enough for them. They will burn in it. What a miserable destination!
O you who believe, when you converse privately, do not converse in sin, aggression, and disobedience to the Messenger. Converse in righteousness and mindfulness of God, and be mindful of God, to whom you will be gathered.
Secret conversation is from Satan, meant to grieve those who believe, but it cannot harm them at all except by God's permission. So let the believers place their trust in God.
O you who believe, when you are told to make room in gatherings, then make room, and God will make room for you. When you are told to rise, then rise. God will elevate those among you who believe and those who have been given knowledge by degrees. God is fully aware of what you do.
O you who believe, when you wish to speak privately with the Messenger, offer charity before your private consultation. That is better for you and purer. But if you cannot find the means, then God is Forgiving, Merciful.
Were you afraid to offer charity before your private consultations? Since you did not do so and God has turned to you in mercy, then establish the Prayer, give the Charity, and obey God and His Messenger. God is fully aware of what you do.
Have you not seen those who ally themselves with a people God is angry with? They belong neither to you nor to them, and they swear to lies knowingly.
God has prepared for them a severe punishment. How evil is what they have been doing.
They have taken their oaths as a shield, blocking others from the path of God, so for them is a humiliating punishment.
Their wealth and their children will not help them against God at all. These are the companions of the Fire, dwelling there forever.
On the Day God resurrects them all, they will swear to Him just as they swear to you, thinking they have something to stand on. They are the liars.
Satan has overtaken them and made them forget the remembrance of God. These are the party of Satan. The party of Satan are the losers.
Those who oppose God and His Messenger will be among the most humiliated.
God has decreed, "I and My messengers will surely prevail." God is Strong, Mighty.
You will not find a people who believe in God and the Last Day showing affection to those who oppose God and His Messenger, even if they are their fathers, their sons, their brothers, or their clan. These are the ones in whose hearts He has inscribed faith and strengthened them with a spirit from Him. He will admit them into gardens with rivers flowing beneath them, dwelling there forever. God is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him. These are the party of God. The party of God are the successful.
