Everything in the heavens and the earth glorifies God, and He is the Almighty, the Wise.
To Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. He gives life and causes death, and He has power over all things.
He is the First and the Last, the Manifest and the Hidden, and He has knowledge of all things.
He is the One who created the heavens and the earth in six days, then established Himself upon the Throne. He knows what penetrates into the earth and what emerges from it, what descends from the sky and what ascends into it. He is with you wherever you are, and God sees everything you do.
To Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and to God all matters return.
He merges the night into the day and merges the day into the night, and He knows what lies within the hearts.
Believe in God and His Messenger, and spend from what He has made you trustees over. Those among you who believe and spend will have a great reward.
Why would you not believe in God when the Messenger is calling you to believe in your Lord, and He has already taken your covenant, if you are believers?
He is the One who sends down clear revelations upon His servant to bring you out of darkness into light. God is truly Compassionate and Merciful to you.
Why would you not spend in the cause of God when to God belongs the inheritance of the heavens and the earth? Those among you who spent and fought before the victory are not equal to others. They are greater in rank than those who spent and fought afterward. Yet God has promised the best reward to all, and God is fully aware of what you do.
Who will loan God a good loan, so He may multiply it for him and he will have a generous reward?
On the Day you see the believing men and believing women with their light streaming before them and on their right, you will be told, "Your good news today is gardens with rivers flowing beneath them, where you will dwell forever." That is the supreme triumph.
On the Day the hypocrite men and hypocrite women will say to those who believed, "Wait for us! Let us borrow some of your light." It will be said, "Go back behind you and seek light there." Then a wall will be placed between them with a gate in it. Inside it is mercy, and outside it, facing them, is punishment.
They will call out to them, "Were we not with you?" They will reply, "Yes, but you tempted yourselves, you waited and watched, you doubted, and wishful thinking deceived you until God's command came. The Deceiver deceived you about God."
So today no ransom will be accepted from you, nor from those who disbelieved. Your refuge is the Fire. It is your master, and what a wretched destination.
Has the time not come for those who believe that their hearts should humble themselves at the remembrance of God and the truth that has been sent down? Let them not be like those who were given the Scripture before, whose time grew long, so their hearts hardened, and many of them are corrupt.
Know that God brings the earth to life after its death. We have made the verses clear to you so that you may understand.
The men and women who give in charity and lend God a good loan will have it multiplied for them, and they will have a generous reward.
Those who believe in God and His messengers are the truthful ones. The witnesses before their Lord will have their reward and their light. But those who disbelieve and deny Our signs are the companions of Hell.
Know that the life of this world is only play and amusement, adornment and mutual boasting among you, and competition in wealth and children. It is like rain whose growth delights the tillers, then it withers and you see it turn yellow, then it becomes debris. In the Hereafter there is severe punishment, but also forgiveness from God and His pleasure. The life of this world is nothing but deceptive enjoyment.
Race toward forgiveness from your Lord and a Paradise as wide as the heavens and the earth, prepared for those who believe in God and His messengers. That is the grace of God which He gives to whom He wills. God is the possessor of immense grace.
No disaster strikes the earth or yourselves except that it is recorded in a Book before We bring it into being. That is easy for God.
This is so you do not grieve over what has passed you by, nor gloat over what He has given you. God does not love anyone arrogant and boastful.
Those who are stingy and urge others to be stingy. Whoever turns away, God is the Self-Sufficient, the Praiseworthy.
We sent Our messengers with clear proofs and sent down with them the Scripture and the balance so that people may uphold justice. We sent down iron, in which there is mighty strength and benefits for people, so that God may know who supports Him and His messengers unseen. God is Powerful, Almighty.
We sent Noah and Abraham and placed prophethood and Scripture among their descendants. Some of them are guided, but many of them are defiantly disobedient.
Then We sent Our messengers following in their footsteps, and We sent Jesus son of Mary and gave him the Gospel. We placed compassion and mercy in the hearts of those who followed him. As for monasticism, they invented it themselves; We did not prescribe it for them, only the pursuit of God's pleasure. Yet they did not observe it as it should be observed. So We gave those among them who believed their reward, but many of them are defiantly disobedient.
O you who believe, be mindful of God and believe in His Messenger. He will give you a double portion of His mercy, grant you a light to walk by, and forgive you. God is Forgiving, Merciful.
Let the People of the Scripture know that they have no power over any of God's grace, and that grace is in God's Hand: He gives it to whoever He wills. God is the Lord of immense grace.
