O people, be mindful of your Lord who created you from a single soul and created from it its mate, and from the two of them spread countless men and women. Be mindful of God, in whose name you appeal to one another, and honor family ties. God is ever watchful over you.
Give orphans their property and do not exchange the bad for the good, and do not consume their wealth by mixing it with your own. This is a grave sin.
If you fear you cannot deal justly with orphans, then marry women who please you: two, three, or four. But if you fear you cannot be fair, then marry only one, or those your right hands possess. That is more likely to keep you from injustice.
Give women their bridal gifts freely. But if they willingly give up any part of it to you, then enjoy it with pleasure and ease.
Do not give the feeble-minded your property that God has made a means of support for you. Provide for them from it, clothe them, and speak to them with kindness.
Test orphans until they reach marriageable age. Then if you find them mature in judgment, hand over their property to them. Do not consume it wastefully or hastily before they grow up. Whoever is wealthy should abstain, and whoever is poor may take what is fair. When you hand over their property to them, have it witnessed. God is sufficient as a reckoner.
Men have a share in what parents and close relatives leave behind, and women have a share in what parents and close relatives leave behind, whether it is little or much: an ordained share.
When relatives, orphans, and the needy are present at the distribution, give them something from it and speak to them with kindness.
Let those who would fear for their own helpless children if they were to leave them behind be mindful of God and speak words of justice.
Those who unjustly consume the property of orphans are only filling their bellies with fire, and they will burn in a blazing flame.
God instructs you concerning your children: the male receives a share equal to that of two females. If there are only daughters, two or more, they receive two-thirds of what he left. If there is only one daughter, she receives half. Each of his parents receives one-sixth of what he left if he had children. But if he had no children and his parents are his only heirs, his mother receives one-third. If he had siblings, his mother receives one-sixth. All this after fulfilling any bequest he made or paying off debts. Your fathers and your children: you do not know which of them is closer to you in benefit. This is an obligation from God. God is All-Knowing, All-Wise.
You receive half of what your wives leave if they had no children. But if they had children, you receive one-fourth of what they leave, after fulfilling any bequest they made or paying off debts. They receive one-fourth of what you leave if you had no children. But if you had children, they receive one-eighth of what you leave, after fulfilling any bequest you made or paying off debts. If a man or woman is inherited from and has no parents or children, but has a brother or sister, each of them receives one-sixth. If there are more than that, they share one-third, after fulfilling any bequest made or paying off debts, without causing harm. This is a directive from God. God is All-Knowing, Forbearing.
These are the limits set by God. Whoever obeys God and His Messenger, He will admit them into gardens with rivers flowing beneath them, dwelling there forever. That is the supreme triumph.
Whoever disobeys God and His Messenger and oversteps His limits, He will cast them into a Fire, dwelling there forever, and for them is a humiliating punishment.
Those of your women who commit sexual immorality, call four witnesses from among you against them. If they testify, confine the women to their homes until death takes them or God provides another way for them.
The two among you who commit it, punish them both. But if they repent and reform, then leave them alone. God is ever Accepting of repentance, Merciful.
God accepts repentance only from those who do wrong in ignorance and then repent soon after. These are the ones God turns to in mercy, and God is All-Knowing, All-Wise.
Repentance is not accepted from those who keep doing evil until death approaches one of them and he says, "Now I repent," nor from those who die as disbelievers. For these We have prepared a painful punishment.
O you who believe, it is not lawful for you to inherit women against their will. Do not trap them to take back part of what you gave them, unless they commit clear sexual immorality. Live with them honorably. If you dislike them, perhaps you dislike something in which God has placed much good.
If you wish to replace one wife with another and you have given one of them a fortune, do not take any of it back. Would you take it through slander and open sin?
How could you take it back when you have been intimate with one another and they have taken from you a solemn covenant?
Do not marry women whom your fathers married, except what has already passed. It was an obscenity, hateful, and an evil path.
Forbidden to you are your mothers, your daughters, your sisters, your paternal aunts, your maternal aunts, your brother's daughters, your sister's daughters, your mothers who nursed you, your sisters through nursing, your wives' mothers, and your stepdaughters under your care from wives you have consummated marriage with. But if you have not consummated the marriage, there is no blame on you. Also forbidden are the wives of your sons from your own loins, and marrying two sisters at once, except what has already passed. God is Forgiving, Merciful.
Also forbidden are married women, except those whom your right hands possess. This is God's decree upon you. Lawful to you are all others, provided you seek them with your wealth in honest marriage, not fornication. So give those you have enjoyed their due compensation as an obligation. There is no blame on you for what you mutually agree upon after the obligation is fulfilled. God is Knowing, Wise.
Whoever among you cannot afford to marry free believing women, then let him marry from the believing girls among those whom your right hands possess. God knows best your faith. You are of one another. So marry them with the permission of their families and give them their due compensation fairly, as chaste women, not fornicators or those taking secret lovers. Once they are married, if they commit an indecency, their punishment is half that of free women. This is for those among you who fear falling into sin. But to be patient is better for you. God is Forgiving, Merciful.
God wants to make things clear to you, guide you to the ways of those before you, and turn to you in mercy. God is Knowing, Wise.
God wants to turn to you in mercy, but those who follow their lusts want you to deviate greatly.
God wants to lighten your burden, for the human being was created weak.
O you who believe, do not consume one another's wealth through falsehood, but only through trade by mutual consent. Do not kill yourselves. God is ever Merciful to you.
Whoever does this out of aggression and injustice, We will cast him into a Fire. That is easy for God.
If you avoid the major sins you are forbidden from, We will erase your lesser offenses and admit you through a noble entrance.
Do not covet what God has given some of you over others. Men have a share of what they earn, and women have a share of what they earn. Ask God for His favor. God knows all things.
For everyone We have appointed heirs to what parents and close relatives leave behind. As for those with whom you have made binding agreements, give them their share. God is Witness over all things.
Men are caretakers of women because God has given some of them advantages over others and because they spend from their wealth. Righteous women are obedient, guarding privacy as God has guarded. As for those women whose defiance you fear, advise them, then forsake them in bed, then strike them. But if they obey you, seek no way against them. God is Most High, Most Great.
If you fear a rift between the two of them, appoint an arbiter from his family and an arbiter from her family. If they both desire reconciliation, God will bring them together. God is All-Knowing, All-Aware.
Worship God and associate nothing with Him. And show goodness to parents, to relatives, to orphans, to the needy, to the neighbor who is near, to the neighbor who is a stranger, to the companion at your side, to the traveler, and to those your right hands possess. God does not love anyone arrogant and boastful.
Those who are stingy and urge others to be stingy, hiding what God has given them from His favor. We have prepared for the disbelievers a humiliating punishment.
Those who spend their wealth to be seen by people, not believing in God or the Last Day. Whoever has Satan as a companion, what a wretched companion.
What would it cost them to believe in God and the Last Day and spend from what God has provided them? God knows them well.
God does not wrong anyone by even the weight of a speck. If there is a good deed, He multiplies it and grants from Himself a tremendous reward.
How will it be when We bring a witness from every nation and bring you as a witness over these?
On that Day, those who disbelieved and disobeyed the Messenger will wish the earth would be leveled with them. They will not be able to hide a single word from God.
O you who believe, do not approach prayer while intoxicated until you know what you are saying, nor while in a state of major impurity, unless you are passing through, until you have bathed. If you are ill or traveling, or one of you has relieved himself, or you have touched women and cannot find water, then purify yourselves with clean earth, wiping your faces and hands. God is Pardoning, Forgiving.
Have you not seen those who were given a portion of the Scripture? They purchase misguidance and want you to stray from the path.
God knows your enemies best. God is sufficient as a protector, and God is sufficient as a helper.
Among the Jews are those who twist words from their proper places and say, "We hear and disobey," and "Hear as one who hears not," and "Ra'ina," twisting their tongues and mocking the religion. Had they said, "We hear and obey," and "Listen," and "Look upon us," it would have been better for them and more upright. But God has cursed them for their disbelief, so they believe only a little.
O you who were given the Scripture, believe in what We have sent down confirming what you already have, before We obliterate faces and turn them backward, or curse them as We cursed the Sabbath-breakers. God's command is always fulfilled.
God does not forgive that partners be associated with Him, but He forgives anything less than that for whom He wills. Whoever associates partners with God has fabricated a tremendous sin.
Have you not seen those who claim purity for themselves? Rather, God purifies whom He wills, and they will not be wronged by even a thread.
Look how they fabricate lies against God. That alone is sin enough, plain and clear.
Have you not seen those who were given a portion of the Scripture? They believe in idols and false gods and say of the disbelievers, "These are more rightly guided than the believers."
Those are the ones God has cursed, and whoever God curses, you will never find for him a helper.
Or do they have a share in sovereignty? If so, they would not give people even a speck.
Or do they envy people for what God has given them from His favor? We gave the family of Abraham the Scripture and wisdom, and We gave them a great kingdom.
Some of them believed in it, and some of them turned away from it. Hell is enough of a blaze.
Those who reject Our signs, We will roast them in a Fire. Every time their skins are burned through, We will replace them with new skins so they may taste the punishment. God is Almighty, All-Wise.
Those who believe and do righteous deeds, We will admit them into gardens with rivers flowing beneath them, dwelling there forever. They will have purified spouses there, and We will admit them into cool, deep shade.
God commands you to return trusts to their rightful owners, and when you judge between people, to judge with justice. How excellent is what God instructs you. God is All-Hearing, All-Seeing.
O you who believe, obey God and obey the Messenger and those in authority among you. If you disagree over anything, refer it to God and the Messenger, if you believe in God and the Last Day. That is best and most sound in outcome.
Have you not seen those who claim to believe in what was revealed to you and what was revealed before you, yet they want to seek judgment from false authorities, though they were commanded to reject them? Satan wants to lead them far astray.
When they are told, "Come to what God has revealed and to the Messenger," you see the hypocrites turning away from you in complete aversion.
How will it be when disaster strikes them because of what their own hands have done? Then they come to you swearing by God, "We only wanted goodwill and reconciliation."
Those are the ones whose hearts God knows well. So turn away from them, warn them, and speak to them words that penetrate their souls.
We sent no messenger except to be obeyed by God's permission. If only, when they wronged themselves, they had come to you and asked God's forgiveness, and the Messenger had asked forgiveness for them, they would have found God Accepting of repentance, Merciful.
No, by your Lord, they will not believe until they make you judge in their disputes, then find no resistance in their hearts to your decisions and submit completely.
If We had commanded them, "Kill yourselves" or "Leave your homes," only a few of them would have done it. Yet if they had done what they were advised, it would have been better for them and far more strengthening.
Then We would have given them a great reward from Us.
We would have guided them to a straight path.
Whoever obeys God and the Messenger will be with those God has blessed: the prophets, the truthful, the witnesses, and the righteous. What excellent companions they are!
That is the grace from God. God is sufficient as the All-Knowing.
O you who believe, take your precautions and march out in small groups or march out all together.
There are some among you who lag behind, and if disaster strikes you, they say, "God has blessed me that I was not present with them."
But if favor from God comes to you, they will surely say, as if there had never been any affection between you and them, "If only I had been with them, I would have achieved a great triumph!"
So let those who sell the life of this world for the Hereafter fight in the cause of God. Whoever fights in the cause of God and is killed or triumphs, We will grant him a great reward.
Why should you not fight in the cause of God and for the oppressed among men, women, and children who cry out, "Our Lord, deliver us from this town whose people are oppressors! Appoint for us from Yourself a protector, and appoint for us from Yourself a helper!"
Those who believe fight in the cause of God, and those who disbelieve fight in the cause of false gods. So fight the allies of Satan. The scheming of Satan has always been weak.
Have you not seen those who were told, "Restrain your hands, establish prayer, and give charity"? Then when fighting was prescribed for them, a group of them feared people as they should fear God, or with even greater fear. They said, "Our Lord, why have You prescribed fighting for us? If only You had granted us a brief delay!" Say, "The enjoyment of this world is little, and the Hereafter is better for whoever is mindful of God. You will not be wronged by even a thread."
Wherever you are, death will overtake you, even if you are in fortified towers. If something good befalls them, they say, "This is from God." But if something bad befalls them, they say, "This is from you." Say, "All is from God." What is wrong with these people that they can barely understand a word?
Whatever good befalls you is from God, and whatever bad befalls you is from yourself. We have sent you to humanity as a messenger, and God is sufficient as a witness.
Whoever obeys the Messenger has obeyed God. As for those who turn away, We have not sent you as their guardian.
They say, "We obey," but when they leave your presence, a group of them plots by night to do other than what you say. God records what they plot by night, so turn away from them and put your trust in God. God is sufficient as a Guardian.
Do they not reflect upon the Quran? If it had been from anyone other than God, they would have found in it much contradiction.
When news of security or fear reaches them, they spread it around. If they had referred it to the Messenger and to those in authority among them, those who can draw conclusions would have understood it. Were it not for God's grace upon you and His mercy, you would have followed Satan, except for a few.
So fight in the cause of God. You are responsible only for yourself. Urge the believers on. Perhaps God will restrain the might of those who disbelieve. God is stronger in might and more severe in punishment.
Whoever intercedes for a good cause will have a share in it, and whoever intercedes for an evil cause will bear a portion of it. God watches over all things.
When you are greeted with a greeting, respond with a better one or return it. God takes account of all things.
God, there is no god but Him. He will gather you all on the Day of Resurrection, about which there is no doubt. Who is more truthful in speech than God?
Why are you divided into two groups regarding the hypocrites when God has cast them back because of what they committed? Do you want to guide those whom God has led astray? Whoever God leads astray, you will never find a way for them.
They wish you would disbelieve as they have disbelieved, so you would all be alike. So do not take allies from among them until they emigrate in the cause of God. But if they turn away, seize them and kill them wherever you find them, and do not take from among them any ally or helper.
Except those who join a people with whom you have a treaty, or those who come to you with their hearts unwilling to fight you or fight their own people. Had God willed, He could have given them power over you, and they would have fought you. So if they withdraw from you and do not fight you and offer you peace, then God has given you no grounds against them.
You will find others who want security from you and security from their own people. Every time they are returned to temptation, they plunge back into it. If they do not withdraw from you, offer you peace, and restrain their hands, then seize them and kill them wherever you encounter them. Over such people, We have given you clear authority.
It is not for a believer to kill another believer except by mistake. Whoever kills a believer by mistake must free a believing slave and pay blood money to the victim's family, unless they waive it as charity. If the victim belonged to a people hostile to you but was himself a believer, then the penalty is freeing a believing slave. If he belonged to a people with whom you have a treaty, then blood money must be paid to his family and a believing slave must be freed. Whoever cannot find the means must fast two consecutive months as repentance before God. God is All-Knowing, All-Wise.
Whoever kills a believer intentionally, his punishment is Hell, where he will remain forever. God is angry with him, has cursed him, and has prepared for him a tremendous punishment.
O you who believe, when you go forth in the cause of God, be discerning. Do not say to anyone who offers you peace, "You are not a believer," seeking the fleeting gains of this worldly life, for with God are abundant rewards. You yourselves were once like that, then God bestowed His favor upon you. So be discerning. God is fully aware of what you do.
Not equal are those believers who sit back, other than those with disabilities, and those who strive in the cause of God with their wealth and their lives. God has favored those who strive with their wealth and their lives over those who sit back by a degree. To all, God has promised good. But God has favored those who strive over those who sit back with a tremendous reward.
Ranks from Him, forgiveness, and mercy. God is Forgiving, Merciful.
Those whose souls the angels take while they were wronging themselves, the angels will ask, "What state were you in?" They will say, "We were oppressed in the land." The angels will say, "Was God's earth not spacious enough for you to emigrate?" Their refuge is Hell, and what a terrible destination.
Except for the truly oppressed among men, women, and children who have no means and find no way out.
Those, God may well pardon them. God is Pardoning, Forgiving.
Whoever emigrates in the cause of God will find many places of refuge on earth and abundance. Whoever leaves his home emigrating toward God and His Messenger, then death overtakes him, his reward has already been secured with God. God is Forgiving, Merciful.
When you travel through the land, there is no blame on you for shortening the prayer if you fear that the disbelievers may attack you. The disbelievers are clearly your enemy.
When you are among them and lead them in prayer, let one group stand with you and keep their weapons. When they have prostrated, let them move to the rear, and let another group who has not yet prayed come forward and pray with you, taking their precautions and their weapons. The disbelievers wish you would neglect your weapons and belongings so they could overwhelm you in a single assault. There is no blame on you if rain troubles you or you are sick to set aside your weapons, but remain on guard. God has prepared a humiliating punishment for the disbelievers.
When you have finished the prayer, remember God standing, sitting, and lying on your sides. Then when you are secure, establish the prayer. Prayer has been prescribed for the believers at fixed times.
Do not weaken in pursuing the enemy. If you are suffering, they too are suffering just as you suffer, but you hope from God what they do not hope for. God is All-Knowing, All-Wise.
We have sent down the Book to you with the truth so that you may judge between people by what God has shown you. Do not be an advocate for the treacherous.
Seek God's forgiveness. God is Forgiving, Merciful.
Do not argue on behalf of those who betray themselves. God does not love anyone who is a persistent traitor and sinner.
They hide from people but cannot hide from God. He is with them when they plot by night with words that displease Him. God fully encompasses everything they do.
Here you are, arguing on their behalf in this worldly life, but who will argue with God on their behalf on the Day of Resurrection? Who will be their defender?
Whoever does evil or wrongs their own soul, then seeks God's forgiveness, will find God Forgiving, Merciful.
Whoever commits sin only commits it against themselves. God is All-Knowing, All-Wise.
Whoever commits a fault or a sin then throws the blame on an innocent person has burdened themselves with slander and clear sin.
Were it not for God's grace upon you and His mercy, a group of them would have tried to lead you astray. But they only lead themselves astray and cannot harm you at all. God has sent down to you the Book and wisdom and taught you what you did not know. God's grace upon you has been immense.
There is no good in most of their secret talks, except for those who call for charity, kindness, or reconciliation between people. Whoever does this seeking God's pleasure, We will give them a great reward.
Whoever opposes the Messenger after guidance has become clear to them and follows a path other than that of the believers, We will leave them to what they have chosen and burn them in Hell—what a terrible destination.
God does not forgive associating partners with Him, but He forgives anything less than that for whoever He wills. Whoever associates partners with God has strayed far, far astray.
They call upon nothing but female deities besides Him, and they call upon nothing but a rebellious Satan.
God cursed him. He said, "I will surely take from Your servants an appointed share."
"I will mislead them, fill them with false hopes, command them to slit the ears of cattle, and command them to alter God's creation." Whoever takes Satan as a protector instead of God has suffered a clear loss.
He makes them promises and fills them with hopes, but Satan's promises are nothing but delusion.
Their refuge is Hell, and they will find no escape from it.
Those who believe and do good deeds, We will admit them into gardens with rivers flowing beneath them, dwelling there forever. This is God's true promise, and who is more truthful in speech than God?
It is not by your wishes, nor by the wishes of the People of the Scripture. Whoever does evil will be repaid for it and will find no protector or helper besides God.
Whoever does good deeds, whether male or female, while being a believer, they will enter Paradise and will not be wronged by even the speck on a date seed.
Who is better in faith than one who submits their face to God while doing good and follows the way of Abraham, devoted? God took Abraham as a close friend.
To God belongs everything in the heavens and everything on earth. God encompasses all things.
They ask you for a ruling concerning women. Say, "God gives you His ruling about them, and so does what is recited to you in the Book concerning orphan girls to whom you do not give what is prescribed for them, yet you desire to marry them, and concerning helpless children, and that you stand up for orphans with justice. Whatever good you do, God is fully aware of it."
If a woman fears ill-treatment or desertion from her husband, there is no blame on them if they reach a peaceful settlement between themselves. Settlement is better. Souls are prone to selfishness, but if you do good and remain mindful of God, then God is fully aware of what you do.
You will never be able to treat your wives with equal fairness, no matter how hard you try. So do not incline so completely toward one that you leave the other hanging. If you make amends and remain mindful of God, then God is Forgiving, Merciful.
If they separate, God will enrich each of them from His abundance. God is Boundless, Wise.
To God belongs everything in the heavens and everything on earth. We commanded those who were given the Scripture before you, and We command you: Be mindful of God. If you disbelieve, then to God belongs everything in the heavens and everything on earth. God is Self-Sufficient, Praiseworthy.
To God belongs everything in the heavens and everything on earth. God is sufficient as a Guardian.
If He wills, He can remove you, O people, and bring others in your place. God has full power to do that.
Whoever desires the reward of this world, then with God is the reward of this world and the Hereafter. God is All-Hearing, All-Seeing.
O you who believe, stand firm for justice as witnesses for God, even if it is against yourselves, your parents, or your relatives. Whether rich or poor, God is closer to both than you are. So do not follow desire and swerve from justice. If you distort your testimony or turn away, God is fully aware of what you do.
O you who believe, believe in God and His Messenger, in the Book He sent down to His Messenger, and in the Book He sent down before. Whoever rejects God, His angels, His Books, His messengers, and the Last Day has strayed far into error.
Those who believed, then rejected, then believed, then rejected, then grew in rejection, God will not forgive them, nor will He guide them to a path.
Give the hypocrites the news that a painful punishment awaits them.
Those who take the disbelievers as allies instead of the believers, do they seek power through them? All power belongs to God.
He has already sent down to you in the Book that when you hear God's verses being rejected and mocked, do not sit with them until they move on to another topic. Otherwise, you would be just like them. God will gather the hypocrites and the disbelievers together in Hell.
Those who watch and wait: if you gain a victory from God, they say, "Were we not with you?" But if the disbelievers have a share, they say, "Did we not have the upper hand over you and protect you from the believers?" God will judge between you on the Day of Resurrection. God will never give the disbelievers a way over the believers.
The hypocrites try to deceive God, but He is the one who deceives them. When they stand for prayer, they stand lazily, showing off to people, and they remember God only a little.
Wavering between this and that, belonging neither to these nor to those. Whoever God leaves astray, you will never find a path for him.
O you who believe, do not take the disbelievers as allies instead of the believers. Do you want to give God clear proof against you?
The hypocrites will be in the lowest depths of the Fire, and you will never find a helper for them.
Except those who repent, make amends, hold fast to God, and devote their religion purely to God. Those are with the believers, and God will give the believers a great reward.
Why would God punish you if you are grateful and believe? God is Appreciative, All-Knowing.
God does not love the public utterance of evil speech, except by one who has been wronged. God is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.
Whether you reveal good or conceal it, or pardon an offense, God is Ever-Pardoning, All-Powerful.
Those who deny God and His messengers, wanting to separate God from His messengers, saying, "We believe in some and reject others," seeking to take a path in between.
These are the true disbelievers. We have prepared for the disbelievers a humiliating punishment.
Those who believe in God and His messengers and make no distinction between any of them, to these He will give their rewards. God is Ever-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
The People of the Scripture ask you to bring down a book from the sky upon them. They asked Moses for something even greater than that, saying, "Show us God openly." So the thunderbolt struck them for their wrongdoing. Then they took the calf after clear signs had come to them, yet We pardoned them for that. We gave Moses clear authority.
We raised the mountain over them for their covenant and said to them, "Enter the gate in prostration," and We said to them, "Do not transgress on the Sabbath." We took from them a solemn covenant.
For their breaking of the covenant, their denial of God's signs, their killing of the prophets without right, and their saying, "Our hearts are sealed." No, God has sealed them because of their disbelief, so they believe only a little.
For their disbelief and their uttering a monstrous slander against Mary.
For their saying, "We killed the Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, the messenger of God." They did not kill him, nor did they crucify him, but it was made to appear so to them. Those who differ about him are in doubt about it. They have no knowledge of it except the following of speculation. They certainly did not kill him.
Rather, God raised him up to Himself. God is Almighty, All-Wise.
There is none among the People of the Scripture but will believe in him before his death, and on the Day of Resurrection he will be a witness against them.
Because of wrongdoing from those who are Jews, We forbade them good things that had been lawful to them, and for their frequent obstruction from the path of God.
For their taking of usury when they had been forbidden from it, and their consuming people's wealth unjustly. We have prepared for the disbelievers among them a painful punishment.
But those among them who are firmly grounded in knowledge, and the believers who believe in what has been revealed to you and what was revealed before you, and those who establish Prayer, and those who give Charity, and those who believe in God and the Last Day: to these We will give a great reward.
We have sent revelation to you just as We sent revelation to Noah and the prophets after him. We sent revelation to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, the Tribes, Jesus, Job, Jonah, Aaron, and Solomon. And We gave David the Psalms.
There are messengers We have told you about before, and messengers We have not told you about. And God spoke directly to Moses.
Messengers bringing good news and warnings, so that people would have no argument against God after the messengers came. God is Almighty, All-Wise.
But God bears witness to what He has sent down to you. He sent it down with His knowledge, and the angels bear witness too. God is sufficient as a Witness.
Those who disbelieve and block others from God's path have strayed far into error.
Those who disbelieve and do wrong, God will never forgive them, nor will He guide them to any path.
Except the path to Hell, where they will remain forever. That is easy for God.
O humanity, the Messenger has come to you with the truth from your Lord, so believe. It is better for you. But if you disbelieve, then to God belongs everything in the heavens and the earth. God is All-Knowing, All-Wise.
O People of the Scripture, do not go to excess in your religion, and do not say about God anything but the truth. The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was only a messenger of God and His word that He cast into Mary, and a spirit from Him. So believe in God and His messengers, and do not say, "Three." Stop, it is better for you. God is only one God. Glory be to Him, far above having a son. To Him belongs everything in the heavens and everything on earth. God is sufficient as a guardian.
The Messiah would never disdain to be a servant of God, nor would the angels nearest to Him. Whoever disdains His worship and grows arrogant, He will gather them all to Himself.
Those who believed and did righteous deeds, He will pay them their rewards in full and increase them from His grace. But those who disdained and grew arrogant, He will punish them with a painful punishment, and they will find for themselves no protector or helper besides God.
O people, a clear proof has come to you from your Lord, and We have sent down to you a clear light.
Those who believe in God and hold fast to Him, He will admit them into mercy from Him and grace, and He will guide them to Himself on a straight path.
They ask you for a ruling. Say, "God gives you a ruling concerning someone who dies with no direct heirs: if a man dies leaving no child but has a sister, she gets half of what he left. And he inherits from her if she has no child. If there are two sisters, they get two-thirds of what he left. If there are siblings, both men and women, then the male gets the share of two females." God makes this clear to you so you do not go astray. God knows everything.
