We sent Noah to his people: "Warn your people before a painful punishment comes upon them."
He said, "O my people, I am a clear warner to you.
Worship God, be mindful of Him, and obey me.
He will forgive your sins and grant you respite until an appointed time. When God's appointed time arrives, it cannot be delayed, if only you knew.
He said, "My Lord, I have called my people night and day.
But my calling only increased their flight.
Every time I called them so You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears, wrapped themselves in their garments, persisted, and grew arrogant with great arrogance.
Then I called them openly.
Then I proclaimed to them publicly and spoke to them privately.
I said, "Seek forgiveness from your Lord. He has always been Most Forgiving.
He will send the sky upon you in abundant rain.
He will provide you with wealth and children, and grant you gardens and rivers.
What is wrong with you that you do not revere God's majesty?
He created you in stages.
Do you not see how God created seven heavens in layers?
He placed the moon within them as a light and made the sun a lamp.
God grew you from the earth like plants.
Then He will return you to it and bring you forth again.
God made the earth a spread for you.
So that you may travel through its wide paths.
Noah said, "My Lord, they have disobeyed me and followed those whose wealth and children only increase them in loss.
They schemed a tremendous scheme.
They said, "Never abandon your gods! Never abandon Wadd, Suwa, Yaghuth, Yauq, or Nasr!"
They have led many astray. Increase the wrongdoers only in misguidance.
Because of their sins, they were drowned and cast into the Fire. They found no helpers for themselves besides God.
Noah said, "My Lord, do not leave a single disbeliever dwelling on the earth.
If You leave them, they will mislead Your servants and breed nothing but wicked disbelievers.
My Lord, forgive me and my parents, and whoever enters my house as a believer, and the believing men and believing women. Increase the wrongdoers only in ruin.
