By the mount.
By a book written
In parchment spread out.
By the visited house.
By the raised roof.
By the filled sea.
Indeed, the punishment of your Lord will surely happen.
There is no repeller for it.
On the day the heaven will reel, reeling,
And the mountains will pass away, passing away,
Then woe on that day to the deniers!
Those who they are in vain discourse, playing.
On the day they will be thrust to the fire of hell, thrusting.
This is the fire, the one which you used to call a lie.
Then is this magic, or do you not see?
Burn in it, then be patient or do not be patient, equal on you. You are only being recompensed for what you used to do.
Indeed, those who fear are in gardens and pleasure,
Enjoying what their Lord gave them; and their Lord guarded them from the punishment of hellfire.
Eat and drink with good digestion, for what you used to do.
Reclining on couches, lined up; and We paired them with wide-eyed houris.
And those who believed and whose offspring followed them in faith, We joined their offspring with them; and We did not cheat them of their work anything; every man is pledged for what he earned.
And We extended to them fruit and meat of what they desire.
They will draw for one another in it, a cup of wine. There is no foolish talk in it and no sin.
And there will go round them boys for them, as if they were protected pearls.
And some of them advanced towards some, questioning one another.
They said, 'Indeed we, we were before among our family, apprehensive,
Then God bestowed favour on us and guarded us from the punishment of the hot wind.
Indeed we, we used to call on Him before; indeed He, He is the Kind, the Compassionate.'
So remind, and you are not, by the favour of your Lord, a soothsayer nor mad.
Or they say, 'A poet; we wait for the uncertainty of fate for him.'
Say, 'Wait, and indeed, I am with you among those who wait.'
Or their dreams command them this, or they are immoderate people.
Or they say, 'He has forged it.' Nay, they do not believe.
Then let them come with information the like of it, if they are truthful.
Or they were created from nothing, or they are the creators.
Or they created the heavens and the earth. Nay, they are not sure.
Or with them are the treasures of your Lord, or they are the absolute authority.
Or for them is a ladder, in it they listen; then let their listener come with a clear authority.
Or for Him the daughters and for you the sons.
Or you ask them for a reward, so they are burdened from debt.
Or with them is the unseen, so they write.
Or they desire a plot. So those who disbelieved, they are the ones plotted against.
Or for them is a god other than God. Glory be to God above what they associate.
And if they see a piece of the sky falling, they would say, 'Heaped clouds.'
So leave them until they meet their day, the one in which they will be swooned;
On the day their plot will not avail them anything, and they will not be helped.
And indeed, for those who did wrong there is a punishment before that; but most of them do not know.
So be patient for the judgment of your Lord, so indeed you are in Our eyes. And glorify with the praise of your Lord when you stand up,
And of the night, then glorify Him, and at the retreating of the stars.
