Alif Lam Mim.
The revelation of this Book, without doubt, is from the Lord of all worlds.
Or do they say, "He fabricated it"? No, it is the truth from your Lord, so that you may warn a people to whom no warner came before you, that they might be guided.
God is the One who created the heavens and the earth and everything between them in six days, then established Himself upon the Throne. You have no protector or intercessor apart from Him. Will you not then remember?
He directs every affair from heaven to earth, then it ascends to Him in a day whose measure is a thousand years by your counting.
That is the Knower of the unseen and the seen, the Almighty, the Merciful.
He perfected everything He created and began the creation of the human being from clay.
Then He made his offspring from an extract of worthless fluid.
Then He shaped him and breathed into him from His spirit, and He gave you hearing, sight, and hearts. How little you give thanks!
They say, "When we have vanished into the earth, will we really be in a new creation?" In fact, they deny the meeting with their Lord.
Say, "The Angel of Death, who has been assigned to you, will take your souls. Then to your Lord you will be returned."
If only you could see when the criminals hang their heads before their Lord, saying, "Our Lord, we have seen and we have heard, so send us back and we will do good. We are now certain!"
Had We willed, We could have given every soul its guidance, but the word from Me has come true: I will surely fill Hell with jinn and humans altogether.
So taste this because you forgot the meeting of this Day of yours. We have forgotten you. Taste the punishment of eternity for what you used to do.
Only those believe in Our signs who, when reminded of them, fall down in prostration and glorify their Lord with praise, and they are not arrogant.
Their sides forsake their beds as they call upon their Lord in fear and hope, and they spend from what We have provided them.
No soul knows what delights of the eyes are hidden for them as a reward for what they used to do.
Is one who believes like one who defiantly disobeys? They are not equal.
Those who believe and do righteous deeds will have Gardens of Refuge as a welcome for what they used to do.
But those who defiantly disobey, their refuge is the Fire. Every time they try to escape from it, they are thrown back into it, and they are told, "Taste the punishment of the Fire that you used to deny."
We will make them taste the lesser punishment before the greater punishment, so that perhaps they will return.
Who is more unjust than one who is reminded of his Lord's verses and then turns away from them? We will take vengeance on the criminals.
We gave Moses the Scripture, so do not be in doubt about receiving it, and We made it a guidance for the Children of Israel.
We appointed from among them leaders who guided by Our command when they persevered patiently, and they were certain of Our verses.
Your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning what they used to differ about.
Does it not guide them how many generations We destroyed before them, in whose dwellings they now walk? In that are signs. Will they not listen?
Do they not see that We drive water to barren land and bring forth crops from which their livestock and they themselves eat? Will they not see?
They say, "When is this victory, if you are truthful?"
Say, "On the Day of Victory, the faith of those who disbelieved will not benefit them, nor will they be given respite."
So turn away from them and wait. They too are waiting.
