Read by the name of your Lord, He who created.
He created the human being from congealed blood.
Recite along with your Lord, The All-gracious;
He who taught through the pen.
He taught the human being that which he knew not.
Not at all! Truly the human being surely does transgress.
Because he has seen himself to be self-sufficient.
Truly the returning is unto your Lord.
Have you seen the one who forbids?
A servant when he prays.
See you that what if he was on the guidance?
Or he enjoins to Allah’s reverence.
See you that if he belies and turns away.
Does he not know that Allah indeed sees?
Not at all! If he does not desist, We surely will drag him by the forelock,
a forelock lying and sinful.
Then let him call upon the people of his party.
We will call on the angels [of the hellfire].
Not at all! Do not obey him but prostrate and draw near.
