By the dawn.
By the ten nights.
By the even and the odd.
By the night as it slips away.
Is there not in this an oath for one with understanding?
Have you not seen what your Lord did to Aad?
Iram of the towering pillars.
The likes of which had never been created in any land.
And Thamud, who carved the rocks in the valley.
And Pharaoh of the stakes.
All of them transgressed throughout the lands.
And spread much corruption in them.
So your Lord poured upon them a scourge of punishment.
Your Lord is ever watchful.
As for the human being, when his Lord tests him by honoring him and blessing him, he says, "My Lord has honored me."
But when He tests him by restricting his provision, he says, "My Lord has humiliated me."
No! Rather, you do not honor the orphan.
You do not urge one another to feed the poor.
You devour inheritance with greedy consumption.
You love wealth with excessive love.
No! When the earth is crushed, pounded and pounded.
Your Lord arrives, and the angels rank upon rank.
On that Day, Hell is brought near. On that Day, the human being will remember, but what good will remembering do him?
He will say, "If only I had sent ahead something for my life!"
On that Day, none will punish as He punishes.
None will bind as He binds.
O tranquil soul!
Return to your Lord, pleased and pleasing.
Enter among My servants.
Enter My Paradise.
