Surah “The Overwhelming, The Overwhelming Calamity, The Pall”

as rendered by www.quran.live — 26 verses

Has ˹there˺ come to you the news of the Overwhelming ˹event˺
˹Some˺ faces, on that Day, will be humbled ˹with fear˺
laboring, exhausted (i.e., due to their past sinful deeds)
they will burn in an intensely hot Fire
they will be given to drink from a boiling spring
for them there will be no food except from a bitter thorny plant
neither it (i.e., bitter thorny plant) nourishes and nor it (i.e., bitter thorny plant) benefits (i.e., doesn’t satisfy) from hunger
˹Other˺ faces, on that Day, will be Joyful ˹with comfort˺
well-pleased with their effort (i.e., of past good deeds)
in a Paradise, elevated
They will not hear in it idle (i.e., unpleasant) talk
In it (i.e., Paradise) is a spring flowing
In it (i.e., Paradise) are thrones raised-high
and cups put in place
and cushions lined up
and carpets spreadout
Do they not look at the camels, how ˹remarkably˺ they (i.e., camels) are created
and at the sky, how it (i.e., sky) is raised ˹high˺
and at the mountains, how they (i.e., mountains) are fixed firmly (i.e., deeply rooted into the earth)
and at the earth, how it (i.e., earth) is spread out
So remind ˹all˺, ˹O Prophet˺, only you are a reminder
You ˹O Prophet˺ are not over them a controller
But whoever turns away and disbelieves
then Allah will punish him (i.e., one who turns away and disbelieves) with the greatest punishment
Indeed, to Us is their return
Then indeed, upon Us is their account (i.e., reckoning of their deeds)
