I swear by the day of resurrection.
And I swear by the self-depreciating soul.
Does man count on Us not gathering his bones?
For sure, We are able to restore his fingertips.
But man wants to contradict what lies before him.
He asks: when will the day of resurrection be?
Then when the eyes are dazed,
And the moon has disappeared,
And the sun and the moon have collided,
Man says that day: where is the escape?
But no, no shelter!
To your Lord is the destination that day.
That day man will be told what he sent ahead and what he left behind.
But man is observant of himself.
Even if he offers excuses.
Do no pronounce it (the Qur´an) in a hurry,
Upon Us is to collate and recite it,
Then once We have recited it, follow its recitation.
Then Upon Us is its explanation.
But no, you love the immediate life,
And abandon the hereafter.
Faces will shine on that day,
Looking towards their Lord,
And faces will be gloomy that day,
Suspecting that the worst will happen to them.
But no, when it (the soul of the dying person) reaches the collarbone,
And it is said: who will carry it up?
And He knows that it is the departure.
And agony will be heaped upon agony.
To your Lord is the journey that day.
Yet he did not confirm the truth nor pray.
But he denied and turned away.
Then he went proudly to his family.
Woe to you and woe again.
Once more, woe to you and woe again.
Does man count on being left to his own devices?
Was he not a sperm in an ejaculated fluid?
Then he was an implant, then He created and shaped (it),
And produced from it male and female in pairs.
Is He then not able to revive the dead?
